Artfolio Creator Tutorial
Change the Programs Options
 

A number of Options can be changed in the Artfolio Creator. To view or change the Options first select "Options..." from the menu as shown below.

You will see the Options window with the General tab selected, as shown below.

The General tab has the following options:

  • Show the welcome screen: Allows you to set whether the Welcome screen appears each time you start the Artfolio Creator.
  • Check online for program updates: Allows you to set whether the Artfolio Creator will automatically check online for any available updates.
  • Integrate with google Picasa™: Allows you to set whether the Artfolio Creator will integrate itself with Google Picasa™.

The Portfolio tab has the following options:

  • Include the creation date: Allows you to set whether a creation date is included and displayed in your portfolio. The creation date will be the date you burn the portfolio to CD and not the date you began editing the portfolio.
  • Include a copyright notice: Allows you to set whether a copyright notice is included and displayed in your portfolio. The copyright notice will be in the form of "Copyright © 2009, Your Name".
  • Resize the image when adding an artwork : This allows you to automatically resize any large images you add to your portfolio to a smaller size. You can select the maximum size you wish to allow by sliding the size bar to the left or right. You can also choose to not resize the images, preserving their origional size by sliding the size bar all the way to the right.
  • When compressing images in PDF files: This allows you to set the ammount of compression used for images when saving your portfolio as a PDF file. The less compression used the higher the quality of the image but the greater in size the PDF file will be. The more compression used, the smaller the PDF file will be but the lower in quality the included images will be. A compression value of 20% is perfect for most situations.

The Templates tab has the following options:

  • Export your templates: You can export all the custom templates you have created in order to have an extra copy saved or to share them online. Templates as saved as AFT files.
  • Import new templates: You can import new templates by clicking the 'Import...' button and selecting the AFT file you wish to import.

The E-Mail tab has the following options:

  • Add a New Account: click this button if you wish to add in a new E-Mail account in order to be able to send portfolios from that E-Mail address.
  • My Default Account: If you right click on an existing E-Mail account you can select it to be your default account so next time you E-Mail a portfolio it will automatically use that account.
  • Edit Account: If you right click on an existing E-Mail account you can select to edit it in case you need to change any of the details such as username or password.
  • Delete Account: If you right click on an existing E-Mail account you can select to delete it.
